 RESOLUTION
 
 
 A RESOLUTION OF THE MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL OF CUMBERLAND, MARYLAND, APPROVING THE DEVELOPMENT OF HOUSING IN CUMBERLAND, MARYLAND, TO BE FINANCED EITHER DIRECTLY BY THE DEPARTMENT OF HOUSING AND COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT OF THE STATE OF MARYLAND OR THROUGH THE DEPARTMENT’S COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT ADMINISTRATION.
 
 
 WHEREAS, The Mayor and City Council of Cumberland, Maryland, recognized that there is a significant need for decent, safe and sanitary housing in Cumberland for families of low or limited incomes; and
 
 WHEREAS, Cumberland Partners, LLC, a Maryland limited liability company, proposes to develop and operate a rental housing development comprised of approximately 60 units, known as the Fourth Street Apartments, and located at 701 Fourth Street, all or a portion of which will assist families of low or limited income as required by applicable law or regulation; and
 
 WHEREAS, The Department of Housing and Community Development of the state of Maryland, either directly or through the Department’s Community Development Administration, may provide some or all of the financing for the Project in order to assist in making it financially feasible; and
 
 WHEREAS, The applicable law, regulation and Departmental requirements necessitate approval of the Project and the Project Financing by the Mayor and City Council of Cumberland;
 
 
 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED THAT the Mayor of the City of Cumberland, Lee N. Fiedler, be and is hereby requested to endorse the Resolution, thereby indicating his approval thereof; and
 
 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED THAT copies of this Resolution be sent to the Secretary of Housing and Community Development of the State of Maryland and the Allegany County Commissioners.
